Abstract
This study focuses on the analysis of the drainage system in the highland area of Sawahan Village using HEC-RAS 6.0 modeling. The main objectives of the research are to determine the flood discharge rates for 2, 5, and 10-year return periods, evaluate the existing drainage capacity, and design safe and effective drainage channels in the area. Using rainfall data from the nearest station over the past 10 years, this study applies hydrological and hydraulic methods to model and analyze the water flow behavior in drainage channels using HEC-RAS 6.0 software. The analysis results indicate that the existing drainage system is insufficient to accommodate the water discharge during heavy rainfall, leading to flooding and infrastructure damage. This research provides recommendations for a more effective drainage channel design to mitigate the negative impacts of water flow in highland areas. The benefits of this study are not only for practitioners and academics in the field of civil engineering but also for raising public awareness about the importance of proper drainage system management. Through visualizing the impact of water flow, this study educates readers about the flood risks caused by rainwater accumulation. Keywords : Drainage, HEC-RAS 6.0, Highlands, Hydrology, Hydraulics
