Abstract
Technology and industry are developing rapidly encouraging the government to improve infrastructure especially in construction. One of them is concrete construction. Concrete is a material consisting of aggregate, cement, and water. Concrete is cost efficient and high strength suitable for structures such as bridges and buildings. However, chemical reactions with the environment can damage concrete, affecting its quality and strength. To improve performance, research shows that the addition of epoxy resins can improve the workability of concrete. Epoxy resin is a synthetic polymer liquid whose properties are strong and durable. Research also highlights the importance of density in the concrete casting process to achieve optimal strength. The method used in this study was experimental with SCC concept slump testing. In this study the effect of cast concrete using superplasticizers and liquid epoxy resin showed that the percentages of 0.30%, 0.35 %, and 0.40% resulted in slump values of 12 cm, 14 cm, and 15 cm. In the v-funnel test, the time values obtained were 10.17 seconds, 13.45 seconds, and 17.71 seconds. While workability is optimal at a percentage of 0.30%. Eventhough it has good workability, there is a significant decrease in compressive strength with values of 3.84 MPa, 3.49 MPa, and 2.41 MPa from each percentage. From these results, it was concluded that cast concrete with a combination of superplasticizer and epoxy resin liquid can increase workability but its compressive strength decreases.
