Abstract

Concrete has a weakness, namely that it is brittle because it cannot withstand tensile stress. To overcome this, concrete is given steel reinforcement with correct installation, fine cracks due to tensile stress. One way to reduce fine cracks is by adding fibers to the concrete mix. The addition of this fiber is to provide reinforcement to the concrete through fiber in the hope of reducing the occurrence of fine cracks. The research method carried out was experimentally by adding palm fiber by comparing variations in the length of the palm fiber, namely 4 cm and 8 cm respectively. This palm fiber was taken at 2% of the weight of the cement and the addition of the addictive sikacim concrete additive, namely 0.8%. , each variable uses 3 samples from each concrete variation for a total of 9 samples. From the results of slump calculations, it can be seen that the average slump value obtained for normal concrete is 8.2 cm, fibrous concrete with a fiber mixture length of 4 cm is 14.3 cm and 8 cm is 14.5 cm. The compressive strength test results for normal concrete produced 10.03 Mpa, 4 cm fiber concrete produced 5.29 Mpa and 8 cm fiber concrete produced 4.68 Mpa. The results of the tests carried out showed that the average slump value of 12.33 cm met the standard and the average compressive strength value of fibrous concrete was 7.61 Mpa so it was not optimal, the compressive strength value was lower than normal concrete which obtained a compressive strength value of 10. 03 Mpa. So it can be concluded that the results of the compressive strength of the concrete are far from the concrete quality standard of 21.7 Mpa.
