Abstract

A drainage system is infrastructure designed to collect, channel and manage rainwater or surface water from areas such as roads, built-up areas or cities. The aim of this research is to calculate runoff discharge to plan the dimensions of drainage channels that are capable of carrying the maximum water flow discharge. Researchers conducted a literature review to understand the basic theories, concepts and methodologies that have been used by previous research inthe field of drainage. Data processing uses hydrological analysis methods. The results of the calculations showed that the runoff discharge from the existing channel was 1.65 m3/second and after construction it increased to 2.25 m3/second. Based on calculation analysis, the existing drainage channel on Jalan Mojo, Kediri Regency has a width of 1.5 meters and a height of 1 meter. The primary existing channel discharge is 2.25 m3/second, the secondary existing channel is 1.5 m3/second, and the tertiary existing channel is 0.64 m3/second. Even though the planned rain discharge is smaller than the existing channel discharge, the drainage capacity is still sufficient to accommodate the planned rain discharge. Keywords: Drainage, Runoff.
