Abstract

Unemployment remains a serious issue faced by many regions in Indonesia, including Nganjuk Regency. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the Nganjuk Manpower Office in addressing unemployment, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered in its implementation. This research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants in this study consist of officials from the Manpower Office and participants of the job training programs. The results show that the Nganjuk Manpower Office plays a significant role in reducing unemployment through the implementation of various training programs, such as sewing and barbershop training, as well as organizing job fairs. Key supporting factors include collaboration with various parties and a regionally competitive minimum wage, while the main inhibiting factors are the low readiness and skill levels of job seekers. The study concludes that while the programs conducted by the Manpower Office have been relatively effective, improvements are still needed in public outreach, industry-oriented training, and sustained support for training alumni. Keywords : Role, Manpower Office, Unemployment, Nganjuk Regency, Job Training
