Abstract

Road pavement has an important role in supporting smooth mobility, comfort and safety for road users. Damage to road pavement can reduce the quality of infrastructure, increase maintenance costs, and disrupt community activities. This research aims to evaluate the condition of the pavement on Jalan Beji, Tulungagung, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method. The PCI method is used to assess road conditions based on visual inspection of the type, severity and extent of damage. PCI scores range from 0 (failed) to 100 (excellent), reflecting the level of damage and need for repair. Field surveys are carried out to identify damage, such as alligator cracking, patching, and weathering/ravelling. The results of the analysis show that the PCI value for the Jalan Beji section is 29, which is in the "bad" category. This research proves that the PCI method can be a systematic and objective evaluation tool for determining road maintenance priorities. It is hoped that the implementation of the results of this research can help local governments plan more efficient maintenance programs, extend the service life of roads, and improve the safety of road users in the Tulungagung area.
