Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using the DAMDEX additive on the compressive strength of concrete. The DAMDEX variations used in this research were 0.8% and 1% of the cement weight. The research method used was experimental in the Kadiri University laboratory. The research included aggregate mud content testing, aggregate gradation testing, aggregate abrasion testing, job mix, slump testing, and concrete compressive strength testing at 3 days which was then converted to 28 days. The results of the research show that the use of DAMDEX with variations of 0.8% and 1% is able to achieve the planned compressive strength of concrete, namely 21.93 MPa and 22.06 MPa, which reaches the target of 21.7 MPa. In the Slump Test, the addition of DAMDEX with variations of 0.8% and 1% gave test results which showed that the addition of DAMDEX was able to maintain the consistency of fresh concrete in accordance with the specified standards. And the use of DAMDEX with variations of 0.8% and 1% can have a positive effect on the compressive strength of concrete by increasing the bond between the materials that make up the concrete. DAMDEX has been proven to be used as an effective admixture to improve the compressive strength of concrete. Keywords : [Concrete, DAMDEX, Compressive Strength]
