Abstract

Asphalt concrete AC-BC (Asphalt Concrete – Binder Course) layer consists of a continuously graded mixture of hard asphalt and aggregate, filler and bitumen as a binder. In this study, the mixing of Laston AC-BC asphalt was carried out. with bituminous binder. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristic value of the asphalt concrete mix AC-BC on immersion temperature variations and the percentage of asphalt content to determine the value of stability with the use of optimum asphalt content. This study used an experimental method with a proportion of asphalt content of 5%, 5.5% and 6%. Preliminary testing with marshall test equipment to obtain stability and flow values. From the results of the compressive strength test that has been carried out on the Laston AC-BC asphalt mixture with an immersion temperature variation of 80° and a percentage of 6% asphalt content has a higher value, reaching a value of 2,968 kg compared to 5% and 5.5% asphalt content which has lower value . So that the higher the percentage of bitumen content and the immersion temperature variation of 80°, the higher the stability value. Keywords : Asphalt Content, Stability, Melting
