Abstract
Background : everyone must have suffered o wound, if there is a wound and ignored it can cause an infection and when using antibiotics cause resistance. Medicinal plants that have been studied and used for healing open wounds one of them is jackfruit ( Artocarpus heterophyllus Lmk). Research methods : this type of research is qualitative experimental. Jackfruit leaves in extracts using maceration methods with 70% ethanol solvents. Jackfruit leaf ethanol extract made 3 cream formulas with concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%. Cream formulas are carried out organoleptic tests, homogeneity, pH and solving power. Open wound healing prosess uses 5 groups of 5 rabbits that have been injured with a length of 1,5 cm, and each rabbit was treated with cream povidone iodine ( positive control, cream base ( negative control), cream ethanol extract from jackfruit leaves 5%, 10% and 15% for 10 days. Data was proscessed statisticaly using One Way ANOVA ( Analysis Of Variant) and continued with the LSD ( Least Significant Different) test. The results of this study indicate that the ethanolic extract from jackfruit leaves on the concentration of 5%, 10% and 15% meet organoleptic test requirements, homogenity test, pH test and spread power tests, and gave the effect of healing open wounds in rabbits, including the stages of the inflammatory process, migration and proliferation, and the most effective power healing is in ethanolic extract from jackfruit leaves 15% concentration. Keyword : ethanolic extract of jackfruit leaves ( Artocarpus heterophyllus Lmk), cream, wound, rabbit
