Abstract

ISPA is an acute infectious disease that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract. ISPA can be caused by bacteria or viruses that enter the airways and cause an inflammatory reaction. Antibiotics are very important role in the treatment of ISPA disease, because ISPA disease is caused by bacteria or viruses. Inaccuracies in antibiotic use can lead to the onset of resistance, side effects, and even increased medical costs. The purpose of this study is to know the profile of antibiotic use in ISPA patients and to know the suitability of antibiotic use in ISPA patients in Wilujeng Hospital kediri regency based on therapy guidelines. The type of research used is non-experimental research and the data is descriptively processed. Retrospective retrieval of data from medical records of outpatients of acute respiratory tract infections (ISPA) and data on antibiotic use in Wilujeng Hospital Pharmacy Installation of Kediri Regency. The data collected is in the form of medical record numbers, patient identities, ages and diagnoses. The data obtained is presented in the form of percentages, average values and tables. The results showed that the use of antibiotics in patients with acute respiratory tract infections in patients aged (2 to 10 years) was 141 patients (46.69%). The number of patients with a male gender was 155 patients ( 51.32%) and patients with a female gender were 147 patients (48.67%). The most widely used type of antibiotic is penicillin (49.57%). The benefits can provide resources for future research and improve the suitability of antibiotic use in ISPA patients.
