Abstract

Cement is the main ingredient in making concrete, cement is the result of natural resources and cannot be renewed, so there is a need for alternative materials in the use of concrete mixtures. This research was conducted to determine the optimum compressive strength, water absorption and concrete density values achieved from a mixture of husk ash and straw ash in concrete k-225 with variations of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% taken from the weight of cement. This research is based on the Indonesian National Standard method with the test object cylinder 15x30cm. From the research, the results obtained were the optimum compressive strength value in the addition of 5% with a value of fc'22.5 MPa and the lowest value of compressive strength in the addition of 15% with a value of fc` 11.6 MPa. While the results of the concrete compressive strength test with variations of husk ash and straw ash 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% were 19 MPa, 22.5 MPa, 19.8 MPa and 11.6 MPa, respectively. From the research, it was found that the water absorption value of each variation was 0.04kg, 0.04kg, 0.033kg and 0.04kg. The data obtained that the density value decreased in succession, namely normal concrete 2460.54kg, 5% variation 2429.1kg, variation 2 2412.12kg and variation 3 2397.98kg. Keywords: Rice Husk, Rice Straw Ash, Compressive Strength, Cement, absorption
