Abstract
Boundary Road Blitar/Malang – SP 5 Purwodadi suffer from high traffic load because it is a connection road for the southern part of Java Island which acts as a means of increasing the economy, accessibility and tourism. Therefore, good pavement planning needs to be done to meet the needs of road traffic. Considering the traffic load and environmental conditions on this road, the type of road pavement that is suitable for use is rigid pavement. This is because rigid pavements are designed to have sufficient stiffness and flexural strength to withstand repeated loads on the surfaces of the road. In this research, a rigid pavement design was carried out using the AASHTO 1993 method and a feasibility study of rigid pavement using F_c' 30 concrete. The result were a pavement design 160 mm thick concrete slab, Ø19-300 dowel reinforcement with a length of 450 mm and tie bars used Ø12-45 with a spacing of 635mm long. Based on the 2017 Bina Marga low-traffic rigid pavement provisions, the Blitar/Malang – SP 5 Purwodadi Boundary Road planning using F_c' 30 concrete is suitable for use during the planned concrete service life of 20 years.
