Abstract

The asphaltt concrete layer is one type of flexible pavement layer used in traffic. In general, asphalt concrete (laston) can be defined as a layer in road construction consisting of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, filler and asphalt as a binder which is then mixed, spread and compacted in a hot state at a certain temperature. Performance on asphalt concrete mixtures can be measured by testing the physical properties of the pavement layer mixture, the physical properties of the pavement layer mixture can be influenced by the selection of the aggregate material. Aggregate is an important material used for highway construction. Aggregate is usean d as asphalt mixture material. The function of the coarse aggregate in the pavement layer mix is to provide stability to the characteristics of the road pavement. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of coarse aggregate of garden stones on the strength of the AC-BC (Asphalt Concrete–Binder Course) concrete pavement layer and to determine the optimum asphalt content in the AC-BC concrete asphalt layer mixture by using garden stones as an aggregate substitute. coarse so that it will be known how much content still meets the requirements of the 2018 Highways General Specifications. The method used in this sexperimentall method in the laboratory onbased onixing asphalt using a mixture of asphalt concrete asphalt concrete-binder course (AC-BC). the results of this study concluded that the use of garden stones in coarse aggregates can be used in light to moderate road classes.
