Abstract

Analysis of the effect of flow rate on the length of the water jump is important in understanding and managing water resources. This study aims to analyze the relationship between flow rate and water jump length when water crosses a threshold as an obstacle. The research method includes collecting data on the flow rate and the length of the water jump at various thresholds used as obstacles. The data is then analyzed to determine the quantitative relationship between the flow rate and the length of the water jump. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between the flow rate and the length of the water jump. A high flow rate tends to produce a larger jump length, while a low flow rate results in a smaller jump length. However, besides the flow rate, other factors such as the shape and dimensions of the threshold can also affect the length of the water jump. It is therefore important to consider these factors in the design and management of structures involving water movement using thresholds. This research contributes to the understanding of the phenomenon of water jump and hydrological processes related to the effect of flow rate on the length of the water jump by using a threshold as a barrier. The results of this analysis can be used as a reference in the planning and design of water structures, including dams, irrigation canals, or installations of hydroelectric energy. In addition, this understanding also has the potential to increase the efficiency of water resource utilization and sustainable water management.
