Abstract

In general, Indonesia is divided into 6 earthquake regions. Tulungagung Regency belongs to region 4 and is therefore vulnerable to earthquake activity, particularly liquefaction risk, where the soil changes its properties from solid to liquid due to cyclic loading during an earthquake. Therefore, the assessment of liquefaction risk in this region is important. This study aims to analyze the potential for earthquake-induced liquefaction in Tulungagung Regency using Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data. The analysis method involves collecting CPT data at several points at the research site to evaluate the characteristics of the soil layers and earthquake history data to obtain magnitude values for CSR and CRR calculations and FS values will be obtained. The results show that liquefaction potential occurs at several depths with varied soil types including Sandy Silt, silty sand, silty clay, clayey silt, very stiff grained and sand. In addition, the analysis based on earthquake strength shows significant CSR (Cyclic Stress Ratio) and CRR (Cyclic Resistance Ratio) values, resulting in varying factors of safety (FS). Liquefaction zones were identified at point S1 occurring at depths of 1.4-2 m, 7.2-8.4 m, 10-14 m, and 16-18.8 m, at point S3 occurring at depths of 1.6-2 m, 7.2-15.6 m, 16.2-17 and 17.6-18.6 m. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that understanding the liquefaction potential in Tulungagung Regency is important for designing earthquake-resistant structures and mitigating future disaster risks.
