Abstract

Zero waste waste management has enormous importance in the context of environmental sustainability and ecosystem protection. In this modern era, the imbalance between ever-increasing waste production and limited waste processing capacity has become a serious threat to our environment. By applying a zero waste approach, we can change the paradigm of waste management from conventional processing and disposal patterns to efforts that focus on prevention, recycling, and reducing the waste generated. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze how the implementation of zero waste-based waste management policies in the Ngunut Tulungagung area along with its supporting and inhibiting factors. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques using the model of Miles and Huberman (2014). The results showed that the first implementation had been carried out well. The two supporting factors for implementation are commitment from all parties and clarity of procedures. The three inhibiting factors are the lack of infrastructure, human resources, and low public awareness. Keywords : Implementation, Policy, Waste, Zero waste
