Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease of metabolic disorders caused by abnormalities in insulin secretion, an imbalance between insulin supply and demand, which is characterized by hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus will also affect the quality of human resources and have an increased risk of complications if not given proper treatment and control. This can be overcome if the patient has good knowledge and ability to do self care (self care) for his illness. The study used an observational research design with a cross sectional approach with descriptive and quantitative analysis. By using sample data as many as 320 respondents who meet the inclusion criteria, which provide information about their opinions. Primary data was taken by giving a questionnaire using MMAS. The test results use the SPSS for Windows version 25 (Statistical Product and service) program. From the results of the Correlations statistical test, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between adherence to medication and the outcome of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients in the Outpatient Outpatient Clinic of Mojowarno Christian Hospital. The results obtained from the questionnaire prove that gender, age, education, and occupation greatly affect the level of patient compliance in taking medication. And this is proven by the results of the percentage level of compliance of Diabetes Mellitus patients in the outpatient polyclinic of Mojowarno Christian Hospital which has a moderate value between 6-10 of 87% with a total of 278 respondents. The reasons for non-compliance of respondents varied, some felt bored, forgot to take their medicine, and some stopped treatment because they felt their condition Keywords: Type II Diabetes Mellitus, Compliance, Clinical Outcome
