Abstract

Leadership style is a method or approach used by a leader to lead, direct, and influence team or group members in achieving common goals. Each Leadership Style has its own characteristics in terms of decision making, communication, and interaction with team members. Analysis of the village head's leadership style is used to find out about the performance of the village head with Pagerwojo village officials which raises the pros and cons in the community. This study aims to determine the village head's leadership style in improving the performance of village officials. This research focuses on Leadership Dimensions (Rivai, 2009), including: Character, Vision, Capability, Motivation, Direction, and Evaluation. As well as Employee Performance Indicators (Robbins, 2006), among others: Quality, Quantity, Timeliness, Effectiveness, Independence, Work Commitment. In this study the informants were the village head, village officials and community representatives. The research method used is qualitative research in the form of data collection through observation, interviews and documentation studies using analysis in the form of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the village head's leadership style in improving the performance of village officials is not good enough if the village head lacks communication with village officials so that there must be an evaluation to improve communication with village officials so that all services to the community will be better.
