Abstract
The city of Kediri, East Java, has experienced significant economic growth. This economic growth has increased the demand for infrastructure. The government is responding to the infrastructure needs by constructing new projects, which also stimulate economic activities. Thoughtful planning is required in infrastructure development, especially concerning land planning. This is due to the non-uniform soil bearing capacity, necessitating careful analysis to determine necessary corrective or reinforcement actions. One approach is to use concrete waste, known as Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA). This study aims to address this gap by focusing on the influence of RCA on soil bearing capacity, particularly through Unconfined Compression Strength (UCS) tests, while considering soil elasticity after the addition of RCA. The research results indicate that the soil samples belong to CL classification, with "Well Graded" particle distribution. In the tests of consistency limits (Atterberg Limit), there is a decrease in Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, and Plasticity Index values. In the Proctor test, there is an increase in MDD values as the percentage of RCA increases from 0%, 5%, to 10%, but a decrease is observed at 15% RCA. From the UCS test, there is an increase in Qu values when soil is added with RCA. However, it is also found that an increase in RCA content can lead to a decrease in Qu values.
