Abstract

Papar District is one of the many sub-districts that has cross-city routes. Therefore, there must be a lot of heavy transport passing through, including buses, articulated trucks and trailer trucks. An example of a road section affected by this is Jalan Papar-Pare, in the form of road damage such as cracks, holes and deflections. So improvements are needed in the form of planning the thickness of the pavement layer. To plan a thick layer of pavement, it is necessary to carry out a soil subgrade investigation, the methods used are: soil classification, compaction test, and the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) of the soil. From the test, type A-1-a (excellent to good soil type) was obtained for the subgrade soil class, in the compaction test the optimum air content was obtained at 13.82%, and in the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test, the CBR design value was 33%. Then planning the thickness of the road pavement layers using the 2017 Bina Marga Method on Jalan Papar-Pare using CESAL5 6.8 million is carried out to obtain an AC WC layer of 40 mm, AC BC of 60 mm, AC Base of 80 mm and LPA Class A of 300 mm. . It is hoped that this research will be useful as literature in planning highways in the sub-district area. Kediri Regency explained.
