Abstract
Law enforcement against neglect committed by husbands against wives as a form of crime must be a concern for the government, law enforcement officials and society. This is because the PKDRT Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence is one of the legal products that regulates this problem. Therefore, this study aims to find out how the law is enforced and regulated regarding wife neglect as a form of domestic crime in the perspective of the PKDRT Law Number 23 of 2004. The method used in this writing is normative juridical research method or library research method. The results of the study show that the punishment that can be imposed on perpetrators of household neglect is imprisonment for a maximum of 3 (three) years or a maximum fine of Rp. 15,000,000 (fifteen million rupiah), but the imprisonment for the perpetrator is considered very ineffective in accordance with Article 26 paragraph 1 of the Domestic Violence Law, that victims have the right to report domestic violence directly to the police both where the victim is and at the scene of the case.
