Abstract
Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) is an urgent need in the construction sector, especially in high-risk projects, such as the construction of the Graha Kasih Blabak Hospital Building. The high number of work accidents in this sector indicates the need for a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of SMK3 implementation. This study aims to analyze the level of SMK3 implementation, identify the main obstacles that hinder it, and provide strategic solutions to improve its implementation. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as a data collection tool from 40 respondents. Data analysis includes validity, and includes reliability. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SMK3 in this project is quite optimal, with the indicator Feeling safer after implementing SMK3 having the highest average (Mean = 3.5250). The main supporting factor is the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) which has the highest correlation to the effectiveness of SMK3 (r = 0.865). However, there are significant obstacles, namely the lack of safety training with an average (Mean = 3.5500), followed by poor communication between management and workers and budget constraints. The proposed solutions include continuous improvement of safety training, improvement of communication through daily briefings, and adequate budget allocation for safety facilities. This research provides practical contribution in the management of OHSMS in construction projects and can be a reference for further research focusing on improving occupational safety.
