Abstract
This study compares the time and cost efficiency of ferrocement and conventional construction methods in the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) in Madiun Regency. Using a quantitative and comparative approach, the study analyzes Budget Plans (RAB) and construction schedules (time schedule) for both methods. Results show that ferrocement is 1 week faster, completing construction in 7 weeks compared to 8 weeks for conventional methods. Ferrocement also reduces costs by Rp9,894,932.02 (18.27%), requiring Rp44,271,760.29 compared to Rp54,166,692.31 for conventional methods. This efficiency is primarily seen in structural work, where ferrocement uses wire mesh and mortar without formwork. Ferrocement is proven to be a faster, more economical, and feasible solution for simple housing projects like BSPS.
