Abstract
Banana peels contain secondary metabolite compounds that can be used as anti-inflammatory. The study aims to test the anti-inflammatory activity of banana peel extract on mice induced 5% egg white solution . Banana peel extract is obtained using the maceration method with a 70% ethanol solvent. Inflammatory power test using edema formation method on the sole of the left foot squeaks by inducing a 5% egg white solution. In this study used experimental research methodology with pretest research design and posttest control design conducted on 25 male mice divided into 5 groups, namely the negative control group Na-CMC 1%, the positive control group of sodium diclofenac suspension, the dose group 100 mg/KgBB, the dose group 200 mg/KgBb, and the dose group 400 mg /KgBB. The observed parameter is the thickness of edema in the soles of the squeaking feet which is measured using a funnel term every 30 minutes for 3 hours. The edema thickness results were used to calculate the AUC (Area Under The Curve) and the percentage of inflammatory power (%DAI), further analyzed with the One Way Anova Test. The results showed that banana peel extract has anti-inflammatory activity, where doses of 400 mg/KgBB have the most effective anti-inflammatory activity. Keywords : Banana peels, Anti-inflammatory, plantar thick plantar mice
