Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of population growth, unemployment rates, health and education on poverty in East Java. The type of research used in this research is associative quantitative. The population in this study is data on population growth, unemployment rates, health, education and poverty in East Java. The sample used in this research is data on population growth, unemployment rates, health, education and poverty in East Java in all cities/districts of East Java in 2016-2020. The sampling method in this research used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection methods use observation, documentation and literature study. The data analysis method uses the classic assumption test, multiple linear regression test, simultaneous significance test (f statistical test), partial test (t statistical test), and coefficient of determination test (R2). From the results of this research it can be concluded that: (1) Population growth has a negative but not significant effect on poverty. (2) the unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on poverty. (3) Health has an insignificant negative effect on poverty. (4) Education has a positive influence on poverty. (5) Joint testing shows that the variables of population growth, unemployment rate, health and education simultaneously influence poverty. (6) The variables population growth, unemployment rate, health and education simultaneously influence poverty. The results of this research also show that the education variable is the educational variable that has more significance for poverty, next is the unemployment rate.
