Abstract

Roads are a very important transportation infrastructure in facilitating the movement of people and goods. However, these roads continue to receive increasingly heavy loads from the increasing number of vehicles from time to time. Semampir is an area that is densely populated and has high transportation activity. The roads in Semampir are often overloaded due to heavy traffic. The overload can come from various factors, such as high vehicle volume, vehicle weight that exceeds the specified limit, or lack of routine maintenance of roads. By understanding the factors that affect the life of the road plan, the government and related parties can take appropriate steps to improve and extend the life of the existing road plan. This study aims to evaluate the effect of overload on the design life of roads in Semampir. Taking into account the effects of overloading, measures such as limiting vehicle loads, more frequent road repairs or changes to road design can be implemented to extend the design life of roads and increase their sustainability.
