Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the role of family companions in the stunting reduction program in Sumbermulyo Village, Jogoroto District,Jombang Regency. As well as, analyzing and describing the supporting and inhibiting factors of the role of family companion teams in the stunting reduction acceleration program in Sumbermulyo Village, Jogoroto District, Jombang Regency. This study uses role theory according to Robert K. Merton (1957) with 5 dimensions, namely (1) role collection, (2) role conflict, (3) role pressure, (4) role performance, and (5) role expectations. This study is a descriptive qualitative study conducted in Sumbermulyo Village, Jogoroto District, with a focus on role collection, role conflict, role pressure, role performance, and role expectations. Data sources were obtained through interviews and observations, with the main informants being members of the Family Assistance Team assigned to the village. The results of this study indicate that TPK members face complexity in carrying out various roles, such as family companions and personal responsibilities. TPK plays an important role in health, nutrition, and stunting prevention counseling, and shows positive performance in increasing public awareness. In addition, TPK actively facilitates health referrals and manages social assistance programs for families at risk of stunting. However, there are still x challenges related to coordination and data management that need to be improved. Supporting factors for the success of the stunting program include government support, collaboration between sectors, and community involvement, while obstacles include low education, economic conditions, and cultural barriers. Continuous support in the form of training and resources is essential for the effectiveness of this program in the future.
