Abstract

A road is a land transportation infrastructure that plays an important role in driving economic growth, social and cultural development, tourism area development, as well as maintaining security and defense to support national development. Road improvement requires careful planning that aligns with the road traffic capacity and needs effectively and efficiently. Such improvements are, of course, a long-term investment for a region as they impact the growth of socio-economic activities. The planning method chosen in this study uses the Component Analysis Method and the AASHTO 1993 Method due to the combination of methods offering flexibility, reliability, and relevance to road conditions, traffic, and local soil conditions. The analysis results obtained are as follows: AASHTO 1993 method DDT = 5.5; ITP = 8.5; Asphalt Concrete MS 590 = 7.5 cm; Upper Base Layer = 20 cm; Lower Base Layer = 41.18 cm; using the Bina Marga Method. EAC = 450,000 Psi; SN = 3; D1 = 7.5 cm; D2 = 20 cm; D3 = 25.19 cm. The results of these two methods yielded different thicknesses. Keywords: Flexible Pavement, Pavement Thickness, Additional Layer
