Abstract

Glass waste is waste generated in the glass industry or glass recycling, while concrete is a construction material that is widely used in building and infrastructure projects. The use of waste glass in concrete has the potential to reduce negative environmental impacts resulting from concrete production. In this study, glass waste was used as a replacement aggregate in the concrete mix with varying percentages of coarse or fine aggregate replacement. Concrete samples are molded and then tested to measure the compressive strength of concrete after a specified age, such as 7, 14, and 28 days. The test data were analyzed statistically to evaluate the effect of waste glass on the compressive strength of K 200 concrete. The results showed that the use of waste glass in concrete can have various effects on compressive strength. Several percentages of replacing aggregate with glass waste resulted in an increase in compressive strength, while other percentages resulted in a decrease in compressive strength. These findings indicate that the selection of the percentage of replacement of waste glass in concrete is very important to achieve the desired compressive strength. This research provides a better understanding of the potential use of waste glass in the production of K 200 concrete. The results of this research can be used by the construction industry in the development of more environmentally friendly and sustainable concrete production methods. It is hoped that this research can contribute to reducing glass waste and improving concrete performance in future construction projects. Keywords: k-200 concrete, glass, compressive strength
