Abstract

As time goes on, the use of land transportation increases, which causes overcrowding if it is not balanced with adequate infrastructure, it will cause conflict on the road which makes the road more difficult to pass. traffic. So, it is important to analyze the level of traffic accidents as an evaluation material to reduce the number of deaths due to accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of traffic accidents, causal factors, and solutions to minimize the occurrence of traffic accidents on the Kediri-Tulungagung road during the 2015-2020 period. Based on the results of the study, the Accident Rate traffic accident rate in the period 2015 to 2020, the highest average fatal accident rate occurred in August with 0.587 accidents/100JPKP, the highest average minor accident rate occurred in November with 4,665 accidents/100JPKP , the factors that cause traffic accidents are human factors, vehicle factors, and road geometric factors, the solution to minimize the occurrence of traffic accidents on the Kediri-Tulungagung road is to carry out traffic safety socialization to the public, install a traffic light system accompanied by sound warning and controlled regularly at all times, as well as continuous supervision of crossings by the authorities, installation of speed warning signs, installation of warning signs "no overtaking from the left side" "may and may not stop" "there are intersections", making zebra crossings, controlling crossing road problems, strict selection of SIM acquisition, periodic socialization of traffic safety and asphalt road surface repair. So that these results can be used as a reference in improving the road on the Kediri-Tulungagung road. Keyword: Traffic accident, Accident Rate
